BetterScreenShotSupport starts with the shortest safe fix.

Search the help center, protect unfinished work, and use the focused troubleshooting guide before changing settings or reinstalling the app.

Do not close the app while a capture, recording, export, or recovery action is still active.

Closing the main BetterScreenShot window normally keeps the app running in the Windows system tray. Choose Quit from the tray menu only after active work is safe.

  • Open Recovery Center before deleting or resetting anything after an interruption.
  • Save or export any editor project you want to keep.
  • Wait for a recording or media export to finish finalizing.
  • Record the shortest reproduction steps and the exact error text.
  • Check the installed version in Settings, then About.
  • Export the privacy-reviewed diagnostic report when a problem continues.

Describe the problem.

The diagnostic export limits what goes into a support report.

It includes version, Windows and display capability data, status summaries, and filtered diagnostic events. It excludes captures, recordings, audio, OCR text, keystrokes, clipboard data, tokens, and full private paths unless you deliberately add a sample.
